Some lessons are best learnt at thousands of feet above, mid-breath, looking out at the clouds.

This International Yoga Day, we wanted to share something a little different- not a styling guide or a saree story, but a moment from our own journey as a team that stayed with us long after we came back down the mountain.
Earlier this year, the Mulmul team set off on a trip to Mussoorie, partly to unwind, partly to reconnect, and as it turned out, partly to learn something we didn't know we needed. The trip became one of those experiences you don't plan for but end up cherishing the most.
The Trek Up
We began early, while the air still had that crisp, untouched quality only hill towns seem to hold onto. Our guide led the way, and as we climbed, he wove in stories about the city, its colonial past, the old summer escapes of the British, the quiet little legends that locals pass down about the mountains and the mist that rolls through them every afternoon. With every turn in the path, there was something new to take in- a story, a viewpoint, a sudden break in the trees that opened up into a valley far below.
The trek itself was no easy stroll. The path wound steadily upward, demanding a fair bit of effort, the occasional pause to catch our breath, and a good deal of laughter as we helped each other over the trickier patches. But that's the thing about a good trek, the harder it pushes you, the more present you become. Phones got tucked away. Conversations slowed down. We started noticing things- the smell, the sound of our own footsteps, the way the city sounds faded further behind us with every step up. By the time we reached the top, breathless and warm-cheeked, the view felt entirely earned. Layers of green and white top hills rolled out into the distance, the town sat tucked far below like something from a postcard, and for a moment, everyone just stood there in silence, taking it all in.

Yoga at the Top
It was at this hilltop that our yoga instructor, Mr. Santosh, was with us and what followed turned out to be the real heart of the trip.
He began gently, asking us to simply stand still, close our eyes and breathe. It sounds almost too simple, but after a trek like that, with hearts still settling and minds still buzzing from the climb, that first quiet moment of stillness was strangely powerful. Mr. Santog guided us through a series of stretches and breathing exercises, encouraging us to let go of any tension we were holding in our shoulders, our jaw, our back, our thoughts. He had a way of keeping the session light and genuinely enjoyable, cracking the occasional joke between poses, gently correcting our form, and reminding us, more than once, that yoga isn't about getting it perfect. It's about being present in your own body for a while.
As the session went on, something shifted. The stretches got deeper, the breathing got steadier, and the constant hum of thoughts that usually trails behind all of us in our daily lives began to quiet down. And then there was the setting- the hilltop, the open sky, the wind moving through the trees around us. It made an already grounding practice feel almost transcendent. We weren't just stretching; we were aligning, body and mind, breath and stillness, effort and ease, all in one place, all at once.
A Practice That Runs Deeper at Mulmul

This experience felt especially meaningful to us because yoga and spiritual alignment have never just been a "wellness activity" at Mulmul, they're part of the philosophy our founder, Mr. Harsh Modi, has built much of his personal discipline and way of living around. For him, yoga has never just simply been about the physical benefits. It's been a practice that builds a quieter, steadier kind of strength- one that shows up in how you handle pressure, how you stay grounded through chaos, and how clearly you think when it matters most.
That philosophy has quietly shaped the way we think about Mulmul as a brand- the same patience, the same care for detail, the same belief that ease and strength can exist in the same place at once. Just as yoga teaches you to find comfort in stillness, we believe clothing should let you move through your day with that same sense of ease.
We came down from that hilltop tired in the best way- legs sore from the climb, minds quieter than when we'd started. It's a kind of reset that's hard to put into words until you've experienced it yourself. The trek pushed our bodies; the yoga steadied our minds; and the view reminded us, quite simply, why moments like these matter.
This Yoga Day, our wish for you is the same one we carried back from that hilltop- find your own version of that stillness, wherever it may be. You don't always need a mountain for it. Sometimes a quiet morning, a few deep breaths, and a moment of presence is enough to feel that same sense of alignment.
From the entire team at Mulmul — Happy Yoga Day.
